The City of Houston is Intentionally Delaying Your METRORail Ride

Without public input or notification, the city recently removed signal priority for the Red Line in Downtown and Midtown.

Trains now stop every red light on Main Street between the Wheeler Transit Center and UHD.

It is faster to walk through downtown than to take METRORail.

A METRO light rail operator shared these details:

  • the city of Houston changed the traffic signals on September 20th

  • METRO told the city three months ago not to do it

  • It’s bad for employee safety
